Max Blumenthal's Brilliant Video of New York Pro-Gaza War Rally
TPMCafe —
I posted yesterday about Al Franken showing up with Norm Coleman at a solidarity with Israel rally in the Twin Cities. I thought it odd, to say the least.
That led me to check on other "solidarity" demonstrations in other cities. And I was surprised.
They have taken place in virtually every major city with a significant Jewish population. But hardly anyone is showing up. In New York City, on Sunday, 8,000 (and that is the estimate from the organizers) came out. 8000! In New York, pro-Israel rallies tend to draw hundreds of thousands. And that was the biggest rally in the country.
What does it mean? Is the Jewish community turning on Israel? ...
Pro-Israel Rally For Attacking Gaza in NYC 1-11-09

Crazy New Yorkers rallied in favor of Israel's assault on Gaza including Chuck Schumer who praised Israel for warning Palestinians before they were blown up and Gov. David Paterson who said that there was no room for hate in NY. I guess Paterson didn't see this video. Max Blumenthal was there with his movie camera. Watch it while I throw up... or read the story ...

Max Blumenthal films a pro-Israel rally in New York and asks questions about civilian casualties that elicit the most horrific answers. But these sentiments are not just on the street. They are even on the op-ed page of America's newspaper of record. Uh, calling for or endorsing war crimes is itself a war crime, and some people were tried for that sort of thing after WW II. Wipe Them All Out
Booman Tribune —
From Max Blumenthal at a pro-Israeli rally in New York City on January 11, 2009: My title by the way is a direct quote from one woman at the pro-Israeli rally whom Blumenthal interviewed. The complete statement she gave Blumenthal follows: Nothing good is going to come of it unless they [Israel] keep fighting all the way with it till they wipe them all out." Here are some other quotes from people who are presumably New Yorkers, and I assume most of them are American citizens: Older woman: "There's only one way to deal with a cancer. You either burn it out or remove it." Middle Aged man: "They [Hamas? Palestinians in general?] are forcing us to kill their ...
M. Night Blumenthal Sees Dead Gazans, Crazy Conservatives in Latest Film Project
Weekly Standard Blog —
Max Blumenthal is the M. Night Shyamalan of political Internet "filmmaking." The brash politico experienced early success with his brave foray into the bow-tied underbelly of conservative politics, producing "CPAC 2007: The Unauthorized Tour." The young filmmaker was praised for his innovation--using the exact same style as Michael Moore, but on the Internet, to isolate right-wing cranks and their most egregious quotes through his skillful manipulation of Windows MovieMaker.
Since then, he's become increasingly predictable and self-derivative, diving into crowds of conservatives with his video camera to deliver scoops like, "Hey, some College ...

I hate number games when the units are people's lives, but killing a thousand people, most of whom are civilians and many are children, in revenge for missile attacks that killed fewer than twenty Israelis ... that's why we hear the word disproportionate . And I marvel that people who once faced extinction can in turn advocate it for all of the Palestinians in Gaza, as did some of the commentators featured on the video. How can anyone just shrug his or her shoulders at the prospect of such grotesque numbers of civilian deaths and dismiss it as "collateral damage"? It's gut-wrenching. The rocket attacks by Hamas needed to be stopped, but turning Gaza into a bloody wasteland is ...
