Probably a little unfair as Obama’s nationalization binge has been a bit more narrowly defined that Chavez’s. And unlike Hugo, Obama was put into office by a legitimate election. And Obama hasn’t quite gotten around to abolishing term limits so that he can be President for life.
But by any measure, Obama is probably more like Chavez than any President before him.
The sad part of this comparison is that I’m not sure how much different McCain would have been.
