The Shell Game Continues
QandO — Talk about the "Great Set-up", the con continues with attempts at lowering expectations. Now, per Bill Richardson, who is an Obama surrogate, you’re rich if you’re making over $120,000. Do I hear $100,000? $95,000? Love these "new" politics, don’t you?

Amanda Carpenter: Bill Richardson Lowers Tax Ceiling to $120K!!!
Townhall.com Blog's TownHall Blog — RICHARDSON: What Obama wants to do is is he is basically looking at $120 thousand and under among those that are in the middle class and there is a tax cut for those.

Richardson strays
Ben Smith's Blog — Speaking with great confidence, Bill Richardson defines "middle class" in Obama's plan as people making $120,000 and under. He's right, of course, that those people would get a tax cut -- but Obama holds harmless families whose income is up to $250,000. And the McCain campaign is jumping on the comments from Richardson (though he's unlikely to be making Obama tax policy) as evidence that that number will creep down.

Richardson: New level for rich — $120K
Hot Air » Top Picks — Richardson: New level for rich — $120K posted at 3:10 pm on October 31, 2008 by Ed Morrissey Send to a Friend | printer-friendly The upper floor for those tax cuts keeps getting lower, doesn’t it? Bill Richardson tried explaining the Barack Obama tax plan to Oklahoma’s Steffen Tubbs, but he managed to find yet another income level for the cutoff between the wealthy and the middle-class. Notice how this keeps getting lower? Obama started at $250K, dropped to $200K, Joe Biden adjusted it to $150K earlier this week, and now it’s dropped another 20% since then. Either Team Obama really doesn’t understand their own policies, or they’re trying to make sure that ...

Going...going....Gone!
Babalú Blog: an island on the net without a bearded dictator — Going...going....Gone! First Obama promised that only the rich, those that made more than 250K a year would see a tax increase. Then he brought it down to 200K. Then Biden foot-in-mouthed it to 150K. Today, Obama pal and ardent supporter governor Bill Richardson of New Mexico dropped that down to $120,000. ...

Obama’s Moving Tax Tote Board. How Low Can It Go? - With Videos
Pat Dollard | Young Americans — Richardson Pegs Middle Class as Those Making Under $120,000 For the second time in a week, a prominent Democrat has downgraded Barack Obama’s definition of the middle class. (FOX) For the second time in a week, a prominent Democrat has downgraded Barack Obama’s definition of the middle class — leading Republicans to question whether he’ll stick to his promise not to raise taxes on anyone making under $250,000. The latest hiccup in the campaign message came Friday morning on KOA-AM, when New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson pegged the middle ...

Obama’s Definition Of “Rich People Who Will See Tax Increases” Now Down To Those Making $120,000
Say Anything — Obama’s “tax cuts for 95% of Americans” (which is really tax increases for people who already pay the most in taxes and checks in the mail from the IRS for people who little or nothing in taxes) started at as being defined by his campaign as no tax increases for anyone but those making over $250,000/year.  Then it dropped to $200,000. Then to $150,000. Now we’re down to $120,000 according to Bill Richardson: So what’s going on here?  Seems to me like there’s only two options.  Either the Obama camp ...

Palin Pushes Tax Creep Argument
Political Radar — Previous | Main Palin Pushes Tax Creep Argument October 31, 2008 8:48 PM ABC News' Imtiyaz Delawala reports: Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin charged that Sen. Barack Obama’s tax plan is “so phony that it's already starting to unravel,” continuing an argument made by her running mate Sen. John McCain this week that the Obama campaign’s level for who will receive tax cuts is creeping downward. “Now, his whole tax plan, really, it is, it's so phony that it's already starting to unravel, and we're gonna call it the way that we see it,” Palin said at an afternoon rally in York, Pa. “It seems like every few days, we're getting a new definition now of middle class, ...

Just pick a freaking number, Barry.
RedState: Conservative News and Community — $250K? $200K? $120K? $107,583.45? Because this is getting old. Very, very old. Heath Haussamen has more, but it's mostly the same exasperation, with only a "no reply" from the Obama campaign to differentiate it from my own exasperation. On the other hand, Governor Palin certainly doesn't need to wait for one to bring up the obvious: Palin said that Obama’s definition of what constitutes the middle class seems to be evolving. “And just this morning, Gov. Bill Richardson, a top surrogate for the Obama campaign, he who is working so hard to get Obama ...

Bill Dyer: The Obama Sequence: $250k, $200k, $150k, now $120k
Hugh Hewitt's TownHall Blog — (Guest Post by Bill Dyer a/k/a Beldar ) When a Hard Left tax-and-spend Democrat from Chicago promises you a middle-class tax cut, you have to be awfully gullible to believe him. When that candidate and his own team keep dropping the border-line — from $250k to $200k to $150k, and now as low as $120k — between the "rich" who won't get a tax cut and the "middle class" who supposedly will, then you have to be completely drunk with hopey-changitude to keep believing him (links in original, boldface mine): Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin charged that Sen. Barack Obama’s tax plan is “so phony that it's already starting to unravel,” continuing an argument made ...
