Palin Pranked
Daily Kos —
A Canadian comedy duo called The Masked Avengers from CKOI 96.9 FM in Montreal, Quebec pranked Sarah Palin, convincing her (and her team) they were receiving a call from French President Nicolas Sarkozy. In the interview, which lasts about six minutes, Palin and the pranksters discuss politics, pundits, and the dangers of hunting with current vice-president Dick Cheney. Listen to the hilarious call here. EPIC FAIL. Grandpa McCain isn't going to be happy about this one. Their website must be getting slammed because it isn't loading for some. Nobody Wants To End The War More Than Joe Lieberman It is true that Joe Lieberman has made some terrible choices. If not for his deeply dishonest 2006 Senate campaign I might even give him a bit of credit and say he stuck to his principles. He gambled on the straight talk express, and is probably going to lose.

"Sarah" and "Nicholas"
The Reality-Based Community —
[image] "Sarah" and "Nicholas" A pair of Montreal radio clowns tricks Sarah Palin into believing that she's on the line with Nicholas Sarkozy. She doesn't notice that "Sarkozy" uses the names of pop stars as the prime ministers of Canada and Quebec, or all the other stupid things "Sarkozy" says. Amateur hour. Does the Governor really not know that heads of state don't make such phone calls in the midst of election campaigns? Not as bad as suggesting that we're currently in a "war" with Iran , but pretty damned silly nonetheless.

Palin Gets Punked by Nicholas Sarkozy
Politicol News —
The Palin campaign aides prove to be amateur material as they put a call through to their Vice Presidential candidate from a supposed President of France Nicholas Sarkozy. Now what on earth would the President of France be calling Governor Palin for anyway? It just seems even more hilarious that the call came from a Canadian radio station jock who had a real laugh on punking Governor Palin while posing as Nicholas Sarkozy and his aide. The results are just…priceless. The French translation of the part you did not hear unless you speak French is the radio jock saying ...

She handles it as well as anyone could, although the left will seize on the fact that she would have known it was a prank sooner if she had recognized the fake names of the Canadian officials. Quoth her spokesman, “C’est la vie.”

Sarah Palin, pranked
The Reaction —
By Michael J.W. Stickings As you may have heard already, a couple of notorious radio hosts on Montreal's CKOI-FM -- The Masked Avengers -- called Sarah Palin today pretending to be French President Nicolas Sarkozy. I generally don't like "comedy" like this -- tricking people and making them look stupid -- even when Palin's the target. But it is somewhat funny when "Sarkozy" talks about wanting to go hunting in helicopters with Palin (and, in French, mentions killing baby seals); claims ...

Palin Pranked
Informed Comment —
Sarah Palin gets pranked by a comedy team from Montreal pretending to be French President Nicolas Sarkozy. Scariest things about the interview: 1. Palin laughs pleasantly when "Sarkozy" says he loves to kill little animals 2. Palin seems to think that there is an analogy between the American relationship with Russia and the French relationship with Belgium 3. Palin's idea of bringing "energy" to politics is to involve supermodels; does she think that is the way to resolve the mortgage crisis?
