Sarah Palin pardons turkey, while others are being slaughtered, on camera, behind her
AMERICAblog News| A great nation deserves the truth — She just gave an entire press conference for five minutes in front of a guy killing turkeys on camera. Oh my God, I'm laughing so hard I'm crying. I know it's sick, but she's such a blithering idiot. At one point, oblivious to the fact that some guy is killing turkeys on camera ten feet behind her, she says "we'll probably invite criticism for doing this!" This is a Saturday Night Live skit, with nothing extra needed. ...

"As Todd is my witness, I thought turkeys wouldn't die"
Rising Hegemon — If you're like me, and I know I am, you are more than happy to see Sarah Palin disappear into the ever-thawing tundra. Except for when she lapses into hilarious self-parody... So I guess we'll be seeing her a lot. Just a few weeks, before the Palin/Joe the Plumber "Left Behind Tour" begins anew in Iowa for 2012. But in the mean time, please enjoy and be completely and utterly horrified at this video which shows just how violent irony can be (seriously). Clearly this moment is inspired by the video above. Stay tuned for when Palin recreates the Odessa ...

What a turkey!
BlondeSense — I saw this on the news last night and almost couldn't believe what I was watching. Sarah Palin pardoned a turkey yesterday at a turkey hatchery. After that she gave a press conference right in front of a man who was killing and draining the blood out of turkeys. You have to watch this. (they blurred the really gory parts.)

Kerry Trueman: Has Palin Been Pallin' Around With PETA?
Politics on HuffingtonPost.com — Looks like plucky Sarah Palin is expanding her fan club from evangelicals to vegangelicals. Seriously, how could any animal rights activist not love the sight of Palin blathering to the press while a worker in blood-spattered overalls blithely slaughters turkeys a few feet away? The media deemed it necessary to blur this bloody backdrop, in deference to the "unspoken covenant of ignorance" between consumers and the food industry that historian Ann Vileisis documents in Kitchen Literacy: How We Lost Knowledge of Where Food Comes From and Why We Need To Get It Back: ...

Today We Learned Something Horrible About Liberals
Power Line — The liberal web sites were on fire today, but not about Hillary Clinton's appointment as Secretary of State or Tim Geithner's elevation to the Treasury Department, or the six percent jump the Dow took in the last hour of trading. No, as so often happens, the liberal web sites were hysterical about...Sarah Palin. Governor Palin has returned to Alaska and one might have thought, out of sight, out of mind. But no: the liberals' weird obsession continues unabated. What has Governor Palin done now? In a light-hearted scene that is staged by governors around the country, she "pardoned" a turkey that consequently won't be eaten for Thanksgiving dinner. ...

But… But, Turkeys Come in Plastic!
Neptunus Lex — Except on TV. Where they sometimes get to talk. I think the really funny thing, taking into consideration the well-known fact that Sarah Palin has not only shot but gutted the food that graced her family’s table, is the reaction of MSNBC’s David Shuster as someone else does the work for him: “Now, we’ve made every effort to sanitize the video of what happens next, but you still might want to consider getting the kids out of the room right now, and anyone who’s a little squeamish about where Thanksgiving dinner comes from.” Because apparently, David Shuster thought that ...

Candy-ass goes mainstream
Classical Values — Candy-ass goes mainstream Perhaps I'm a callused and insensitive bastard, but I'm well aware that unless they are eaten alive (which happens only in certain other countries it is racist to criticize), animals have to be killed before being eaten. While animal rights activists and radical vegans do not like this, people who eat meat obviously accept the inevitable killing which is a precursor to their meal. If they don't, well, then there's something seriously wrong with the way they think. I like to assume that normal people think in a normal manner, and that people who eat meat have to know that it came from an animal which was slaughtered. So yesterday when I ...

BREAKING: Conservatives React Sensibly to Election Losses, Eschew Acting Like Loons
Firedoglake — Or so we are told by the always sensible, down-to-earth Mona Charen in a piece most butch-ly and intellectual-ishly entitled "Thoughtful Warriors." And of course Charen is an expert on sensible behavior, having patiently explained to us in the past that her support for torture is morally unexceptionable because she is not a member of Al Qaeda, as far as she knows; that Empirical Science proves Republicans are far, far more patriotic-er than Democrats; and that Barack Obama does not "love" America, but has merely sweet-talked America in order to have rough sex with it and then not return its calls as he ...
