Buchanan: Palin was a "brigader for me" in '96
Ben Smith's Blog —
Perhaps Rep. Robert Wexler's instincts were right here, and the Obama campaign will likely drive this one home with the Jewish community in Florida and Ohio: Palin and her husband, says former presidential candidate Pat Buchanan , was a "brigader for me in 1996."
He was responding to a question on "Hardball" from Chris Mathews about whether she was a member of Buchanan's brigade "wielding the pitchforks," a reference to his conservative populist campaigns of the 1990s.
"They were at a fundraiser for me," Buchanan said of Palin and her husband. He called her a "terrific ...
Palin begins Campaign by Lying
BlueNC - The people's think tank —
Today in Dayton, Sarah Palin began her campaign to be the Vice President by lying to America about her record.
She declared in no uncertain terms that she was against the Bridge to Nowhere. Always had been in fact.
But that turns out to not be the case.
The New Republic has the story
October 2006 she said the following:
5. Would you continue state funding for the proposed Knik Arm and Gravina Island bridges?
Yes. I would like to see Alaska's infrastructure projects built sooner rather than later. The window is now--while our congressional delegation is in a strong position to ...
Palin supported anti-Semitic Pat Buchanan for president
AMERICAblog News| A great nation deserves the truth —
1. McCain is 72 years old. 2. He's had 4 bouts of cancer. 3. His VP choice has no experience in foreign policy or national security whatsoever. 4. She wanted anti-Semite Pat Buchanan to be president. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to guess how good a friend of Israel, and Jews more generally, President Palin will be if President McCain, God forbid, dies or becomes incapacitated in office. Would President Palin appoint Pat Buchanan to her administration? Would he have her ear? Watch Pat Buchanan praise his former suppoter Sarah Palin:
...
McCain Camp Denies that Sarah Palin was a Member of the Buchanan Brigades in the 1990s
Political Punch —
Hillary Rah-Rahs Palin | Main McCain Camp Denies that Sarah Palin was a Member of the Buchanan Brigades in the 1990s August 30, 2008 2:23 PM A meme is developing out there among liberals that Gov. Sarah Palin was a supporter of Pat Buchanan in the 1990s, a charge that the McCain-Palin campaign strongly denies. The evidence is the following, as first noticed by "The Nation ": in an Associated Press story from July 17, 1999, titled, "Buchanan takes conservative message to Fairbanks." "Pat Buchanan brought his conservative message of a smaller government and an America First foreign policy to Fairbanks and Wasilla on Friday as he ...
Palin Not A Buchananite
Rhymes With Right —
For all that Pat Buchanan has been trying to assist the Jew-baiting, Hamas-supporting wing of the Democrats by claiming she was a big donor and organizer to his 1996 campaign. Because, you see, she is on record as backing another candidate in 2000 . The McCain campaign says that instead of supporting Buchanan -- or even McCain -- in 2000, Palin actually supported Steve Forbes. And indeed, another AP story from August 7, 1999 -- one month after the Buchanan trip to Wasilla -- states that joining state sen. Mike Miller of Fairbanks on the Forbes campaign's Alaska "leadership committee will be Wasilla Mayor Sarah Palin, and former state GOP ...
Buchanan smears Palin?
Classical Values —
Buchanan smears Palin? I don't know whether Palin ever supported Buchanan, but what about this ? A meme is developing out there among liberals that Gov. Sarah Palin was a supporter of Pat Buchanan in the 1990s, a charge that the McCain-Palin campaign strongly denies. Palin denies having been a Buchanan brigadista, as does the McCain campaign. Buchanan, however, claims otherwise to Chris Matthews : Buchanan told Chris Matthews yesterday that Palin "was a brigader in 1996 as was her husband, Chris, they were at a fundraiser for me, she's a terrific gal, she's a rebel reformer." They were "at a fundraiser"? Even Code Pink members have ...
Palin in Her Church's Pews When Jews for Jesus Founder Spoke - Two Weeks Ago
Daily Kos —
Via The Politico, we learn that Sarah Palin was in church for this sermon very recently: An illustration of that gap came just two weeks ago, when Palin’s church, the Wasilla Bible Church, gave its pulpit over to a figure viewed with deep hostility by many Jewish organizations: David Brickner, the founder of Jews for Jesus. Palin’s pastor, Larry Kroon, introduced Brickner on Aug. 17, according to a transcript of the sermon on the church’s website. "He’s a leader of Jews for Jesus, a ministry that is out on the leading edge in a pressing, demanding area of witnessing and ...
9/3: Criticizing The Criticism
Blogometer —
September 03, 2008 9/3: Criticizing The Criticism Conservative bloggers generally approved of Day 2 of the RNC, and they were particularly impressed by Fred Thompson 's speech. However, the focus remains squarely on Sarah Palin . Like John McCain 's chief strategist , righty bloggers are furious at what they perceive to be the media's unfair treatment of Palin. While some attribute the negative coverage of Palin to liberal bias, others believe that journalists dislike the AK governor because of her outsider status. Conservative bloggers are looking forward to Palin's speech tonight, as they expect her to ...
Sarah Palin is scaring the bejeesus out of Floridians
AMERICAblog News| A great nation deserves the truth —
Fascinating article Ben Smith just posted about how undecided Floridians are now moving towards Obama because of Sarah Palin. Seems they aren't very thrilled with "ideologues" like Palin. I'm going to guess that part of the reason is a visceral distrust of where the arch-Christian Palin comes down on the question of Jews and issues they care about. Actually, it would be a fascinating question to ask Palin, if she thinks Jews need to be "saved," and whether they're going to hell. In the menatime, let's not forget that the anti-Semitic Pat Buchanan claims that Palin was a big supporter of his presidential campaign. Palin denies it, but then again, ...
McCain campaign surrogate invokes the Holocaust
AMERICAblog News| A great nation deserves the truth —
Wow, John McCain is now belittling the memory of 6 million Jews to help him win in November. Boy, anything to change the topic from the economy, and John McCain's role in getting us into this crisis. Interesting, by the way, that this happened right after he picked Sarah Palin, who has a rather troubling record on Jewish issues and anti-Semitism. Let's revisit John McCain's and Sarah Palin's records on Jews and anti-Semitism. First there was McCain supporter Pastor John Hagee, who seemed to have some kind of odd control over McCain - McCain refused to renounce the man's endorsement - even after Hagee had some rather disturbing things ...
