Video: Specter declares that Porkulus needed more time for hearings posted at 1:38 pm on February 10, 2009 by Ed Morrissey Send to a Friend | Share on Facebook | printer-friendly Okay … then why didn’t Arlen Specter demand hearings? At the very least, he could have forced more debate by opposing the cloture vote yesterday. Instead, he uses this lame excuse after Bloomberg found an embarrassingly objectionable provision in Porkulus yesterday: Got that? Specter missed this because of a “rush to judgment,” a phrase first made popular by the late Johnnie Cochran in the OJ Simpson murder trial in 1995. It’s no less of a bad excuse here, mainly ...
Target: Specter, Snowe And Collins
Riehl World View —
See, now I'm okay with this. While I doubt a heavy social con could win outside of maybe PA, I do think solid fiscal conservatives can win across the map, if they're good candidates. And I'd almost rather have the opposition in a seat, as opposed to an alleged friend you just can't trust.
When Collins speaks, I'm always tempted to call 911 so someone can get out there quick with a valium, or something. And she sounds somewhere between vapid and an empty suit. Snowe mostly hid out through the whole thing. As for Specter, just watch the video below - then tell me this guy belongs in the Senate. He has to go.
A GOP group is putting Republican ...

Yet Specter voted for it anyway under the excuse that he would make sure it was "corrected." As I said earlier , how is he going to correct this when the Democrats have all the control in conference? And if Specter, Snowe and Collins suddenly get a case of rush to judgment-itis and vote no in the final vote, will Obama even care if he doesn't get one Republican voting for it? I don't think so based upon his antagonistic attitude toward the Republicans lately. Right now, his biggest concern is what the American people think, which is why he's on a campaign effort to sway public opinion. Senators Specter and Tester were interviewed by Megyn Kelly, which I alluded to ...
Arlen Specter Admits He Had No Idea What He Voted For
Say Anything —
What a complete and utter scumbag Specter is. He votes for a bill then admits that he was utterly clueless about what was in it. This isn’t a rookie mistake as Specter’s been in office much longer than anyone should be.
About midway through the video he admits that they had no hearings on the biggest spending bill of all time. What are they there for?
There’s no rush. We were told that if we didn’t rush with the TARP bailout that things would crash. They rushed (I think the legislative delay was 3 days between the no vote and the ...
Obama to sick seniors: 'Go home and die'
Hyscience —
... Almost as disturbing as what this means for senior citizens is the fact that the majority of senators clearly couldn't have had time to actually read the entire stimulus and know all that's in it before voting on it, as evidenced by this Fox News interview of Arlen Spector. ...
Porkulus alert: The massive expansion in health-care regulation

Porkulus alert: The massive expansion in health-care regulation posted at 2:40 pm on February 12, 2009 by Ed Morrissey Send to a Friend | Share on Facebook | printer-friendly Earlier this week, Bloomberg reported on a stealth provision in Porkulus that would set the stage for federal diktats in patient care . The bill created a Federal Coordinating Council for Comparative Effectiveness Research, a Tom Daschle pet project that would study the effectiveness of patient treatments and set federal rules on which treatments would be allowed by health-care providers throughout the US. As Betsy McCaughey reported, Daschle’s ...
