Video of Obama, coal bankruptcy posted at 8:30 am on November 3, 2008 by Ed Morrissey Send to a Friend | printer-friendly Yesterday, we featured the audio , and today, we have the 4-minute video clip of Barack Obama talking about bankrupting new coal plants in the US. Obama complained yesterday that his comments got taken out of context. Here we have the entire answer on coal, and the full context really doesn’t help Obama: This still consists of Obama sending “price signals” that discourage the use of coal. He does say that getting rid of coal altogether is an illusion, but he’s obviously opposed to expanding its use or even keeping it at current ...

Video of Obama's Bankrupting Coal Industry Remarks
NewsBusters.org - Exposing Liberal Media Bias —
On Sunday, my colleague P. J. Gladnick helped break the story about Barack Obama discussing how his carbon cap and trade proposals would bankrupt coal-fired power plants. Hot Air's Ed Morrissey has found a video of that interview with the San Francisco Chronicle (embedded right). Sunday evening, the Chronicle's Carla Marinucci refuted claims that she and her paper did anything to hide this information from the public. Morrissey took issue with Marinucci's position: Yesterday, Sarah Palin demanded to know why the San Francisco Chronicle sat on this story for ...

could not be clearer: the Obama-Biden ticket spells disaster for
America's coal industry and the tens of thousands of Americans who
work in it.

A COLD AND RUTHLESS NARCISSIST
THE ASTUTE BLOGGERS —
Listen to the voice of a cold and ruthless, narcissistic psychopath: Listen to how calmly and coldly he announces his intention of bankrupting the coal industry. And then listen to him claim that bankrupting the coal industry will generate billions of dollars for alternative energy programs. And if you think the cold, ruthless voice of the narcissistic psychopath is disturbing, just watch him in action: Don't like what you hear? Don't like what you see? Like the man says, vote accordingly.
Response Of Ohio Coal Association To Obama’s Anti-Coal Statements … ‘I Am Joe The Miner’
Pat Dollard | Young Americans —
For generations the coal industry in this country, particularly in the North East, has fueled our industry and growth of being the most powerful nation in the world.
These miners are a breed apart from people such as Obama and Biden, who never dug into the bowels of the Earth and brought out the energy to light, heat, and run this country.
We NEVER think about these folks until we hear of a horrific mine collapse.
Then there are those who jump on the bandwagon of we should shutdown all coal mining. But I only grow my admiration and gratitude for these people, some who have generations in the mines, who brave that deep, dark ...

EPA fulfills Obama’s promise on coal posted at 12:12 pm on April 28, 2009 by Ed Morrissey Send to a Friend | Share on Facebook | printer-friendly We can’t say we weren’t warned . In January 2008, Barack Obama told the San Francisco Chronicle that people would have to be crazy to open a coal-fueled electricity plant, because Obama’s policies would make energy costs “skyrocket” and send them into bankruptcy. Now the EPA has issued an unprecedented order to renege on a permit already granted to open a coal-generator plant in a Navajo reservation in New Mexico that has the tribe and its supporters steaming: In a dramatic move yesterday, the ...
EPA Reneges on Navajo Nation's Coal Fired Plant
Wizbang —
The EPA issued a permit to the Navajo Nation to build a coal fired power plant last year, but today Obama's EPA reneged on that permit . The Environmental Protection Agency withdrew an air quality permit it issued last August for the 1,500 MW, $3 billion Desert Rock coal-fired power plant, which was slated to be built on Navajo Nation land in New Mexico. The EPA found the permit was issued prematurely, before complete analysis of hazardous air emissions like mercury, or the facility's impact on endangered species, soil, vegetation and visibility in the region. The permit also did not adequately examine particulate matter, according to the EPA. Also, project developers did not ...

The EPA says these permits could violate the Clean Water Act and warrant “enhanced” review.
